Opportunities for Professional Service

Membership in NAITTE provides many unique and rewarding opportunities to serve the profession. Professional opportunities within the organizational structure include:

  • Twelve elected officers
  • Editorship of the Journal of Industrial Teacher Education (JITE)
  • Editorship of the News and Views newsletter
  • Serving as chair or member of a committee
  • Opportunities for national conference presentations
  • Webmaster or contributor for the NAITTE Web site

Advancement through these opportunities is normally accomplished over a period of years. Professionals typically begin their service as a member of a committee and then advance to a committee chair. As they gain the recognition and confidence of their peers, they may be appointed or elected to more responsible and prominent positions in NAITTE.
