Mission

The mission of the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) is "to promote excellence and innovation in science teaching and learning for all."  The University of Georgia NSTA Student Chapter was founded in 2005 to extend that mission to the science education community on campus and in the surrounding community.  The NSTA student chapter offers opportunities for professional development, networking, and community service to all University students with an interest in science education.  Current members include undergraduate and graduate students from the Colleges of Education, Arts and Sciences, and Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.  Chapter activities include guest speakers, an ongoing service project with the Georgia Museum of Natural History, outreach to local schools and science teachers, and attendance at the annual meeting of the Georgia Science Teachers Association.
