Foreign Language
Through the third semester
All students must demonstrate competency in a foreign language equivalent to completion of the third semester of study. This requirement may be met by satisfactory scores on a language placement (including AP, SAT II, UGA placement tests, or the TOEFL, if English is not the student's native language) or satisfactory completion of a third semester course at an accredited college or university. American Sign Language courses may be used to satisfy this requirement
History
1 course
Any History course taught at the undergraduate levels (1000 - 5999)
Social Science (not history)
2 courses
Fine Arts / Performing Arts / Religion / Philosophy
2 courses
Any (3+ hour) courses in Music, Art, Drama, Philosophy, or Religion taught at the undergraduate levels (1000 - 5999).  In addition, CLAS 4960H, DANC 2010, ITAL 4040, SPAN 4081 and SPAN 4082. LING 2100 may satisfy either the literature requirement or the Fine Arts/ Philosophy/Religion area, but not both.)
Physical Science
Preferred course: PHYS 1211/L
Any course taught at the undergraduate levels (1000 - 5999) in the Physical Sciences (Physics and Astronomy, Chemistry, Geology, Physical Geography, MARS 1010/L).
Biological Science
 
Any course taught at the undergraduate levels (1000 - 5999) in the Biological Sciences (Biochemistry, Genetics, Biology, Microbiology, Plant Biology, Ecology, Cellular Biology, MARS 1020/L).
