b) Emergent Technologies, Modeling, and Learning in Science

We are involved in a National Science Foundation grant with Zoo Atlanta and Fernbank Natural History Musem to investigate how students learn and teachers teach inquiry based modeling using virtual gorilla (VGOR) and solar system dynamic software (http://lpsl.coe.uga.edu/). In July we worked with a Summer Safari middle school camp during which time participants learned methods of ethology (gorilla behavior).
