The following requirements must be met in order to remain in and graduate from the Mathematics Education program:

  • Maintain a 2.75 overall GPA;
  • Successful completion of MATH 2250 (Calculus I), MATH 2260 (Calculus II), MATH 3200 (Introduction to Higher Mathematics) and one of the following: MATH 2270 (preferred)/MATH 2500 (Multivariable Calculus), MATH 2700 (Elementary Differential Equations), or MATH 3000 (Introduction to Linear Algebra), and, each with a grade of C or better (a grade of C– is not suffient);
  • Conduct yourself professionally in all field placements.

In addition, in order to be recommended for certification in the state of Georgia, students must earn passing scores on Georgia certification tests required for teacher certification in secondary mathematics.
