Red Clay Writing Project

The Red Clay Writing Project, a site of the National Writing Project, is a partnership of the UGA College of Education and teachers in northeast Georgia. RCWP has been providing professional learning opportunities for educators since 2003, based on the principles of promoting social justice and educational equity, developing teacher leadership, and learning through critical inquiry. Red Clay offers an annual Summer Institute for up to twenty teachers every June. Teachers associated with Red Clay, known as teacher consultants, stay active within the organization through offering professional learning workshops for area schools, presenting at conferences, attending writing retreats, conducting action research, providing RCWP leadership, and writing personal and professional publications.
