Faculty Research and Outreach

LLED faculty endorse a broad definition of research that includes empirical and humanities-based research as described in the American Educational Research Association (AERA) standards and by other professional associations. Research activities include:

  • presenting at conferences
  • seeking external funding
  • supporting research through editorial and review activities for journals and book publishers
  • contributing to policy that pertains to social science research.

We encourage inquires about our many research activities listed below:

Current Research and Outreach

LLED faculty are engaged in numerous forms of research and outreach locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. Faculty pages [hyperlink] showcase each person’s profile. Below is a list of current and active projects by faculty who are interested in collaborators. Doctoral students may consider work on any of these projects as part of their research apprenticeship responsibilities. Contact individual faculty to inquire further.

Topics of Research and Outreach Interest

Please contact individual faculty members if you are interested in talking with them about their work. It might be possible to join a research team, participate in a reading group about a particular topic, or sign up for a Research Apprenticeship with a faculty member.

Conferences that LLED faculty Attend

LLED faculty and students present at a wide range of professional conferences, engaging in national and international dialogue related to language and literacy education. Conferences serve as a way to share information, network with others who pursue similar lines of inquiry, and to grow as a researcher, scholar, and educator.
