My current research interests are situated within qualitative research paradigms and are inspired by the need for educational equity on a global scale. Areas of interest include reading motivation and engagement among marginalized youth; cultural conceptions and practices of reading, especially in relation to our increasing and expanding access to technology; and children’s literature and reader response through a critical literacy/social justice lens.
