A recent graduate of the University of Minnesota, Laurent Cammarata
joins the Foreign Language Education program. As a foreign language teacher, Laurent has taught in various instructional settings both in the U.S. and in France.  Some of his principal areas of interest include: content-based instruction and other innovative approaches to foreign language curriculum design, teacher education and professional development, technology-enhanced language learning, critical pedagogy, phenomenology, and issues related to validation of knowledge claims in human science.  Broadly, his research focuses on teacher learning and the use of phenomenology as a research approach to explore foreign language teachers’ lived experience of trying to move away from mainstreamlanguage-driven textbook curricula.
