Information for students not currently enrolled at UGA

Undergraduate level:

Apply to Undergraduate Admissions for "irregular" status.

Graduate level:

  1. Apply to the Graduate School. Choose "Teaching Additional Languages, ND" as your major. Type in "ESOL Endorsement" for your non-degree objective.
  2. Have 2 copies of transcripts from the institution that awarded your highest degree sent to the Graduate School.
  3. Send a "statement of purpose" to the Department of Language Education, care of the Graduate Secretary, 125 Aderhold Hall, Athens, GA 30602. Tell something about your background; for example, are you a certified teacher? Indicate that you want to take the three ESOL Endorsement courses.

Please note: ESOL endorsement courses are in high demand and may fill quickly. When applying, remember that registration for summer and fall semester courses begins approximately April 1 and registration for spring semester courses begins approximately October 15. Courses are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
