English Education

M.Ed. Plus Certification in Secondary English Education

Purpose of the M.Ed plus certification

This program is designed for the applicant who has earned an undergraduate degree in English or a related subject area and now seeks initial state certification in English Education to teach in Georgia public schools, grades 7-12 and a master's degree from the University of Georgia (which leads to T-5 certification). Students who have undergraduate degrees in areas other than English will be required to take courses that equal those of an undergraduate major in English (7 upper division courses) prior to being accepted.
