English Education

M.Ed. Plus Certification in Secondary English Education - Alternate Route

Purpose of the M.Ed Plus Certification—Alternate Route

This program is designed for the applicant who (1) has earned an undergraduate degree in English or a related subject, (2) is currently teaching in a Georgia school with a Provisional Certificate, (3) seeks a clear, renewable Professional Certificate (T-4 Certification), and (4) seeks a Masters degree (which leads to T-5 certification). In this alternative program, applicants fulfill the field experiences required for certification differently since they are already teaching full time. The program leads to (1) initial certification (T-4) upon completion of Group I, II, & III courses below, (2) the MED degree and T-5 certification upon completion of the entire program of study including Group IV below.
