Teaching Additional Languages:M.Ed. Plus Certification in Foreign Language EducationGroup I courses (these fulfill requirements for initial T-4 teacher certification): Foundations of teaching - 3 courses (these courses can be taken prior to enrolling in the program):
Curriculum and methods - 3 courses (Fall) LLED 4530 Practicum and Student Teaching - 2 courses (18 credits) (Spring) LLED 5550 (3 cr.) Group II courses (these fulfill requirements for the M.Ed. and T-5 certification) Curriculum Planning - 1 course: Second language acquisition- 1 course: Cognitive development – 1 course: Technology – 1 course: OR LLED 7045 (Spring) Learner corpus analysis Classroom discourse- 1 course: Research methods - 2 courses: LLED 7655 (Spring) Target language study (in language and area studies departments): OPTION 1 OPTION 2 (Contingent on the approval of your advisor) LLED 6631 Bilingualism and Bilingual Education or an elective in other departments, e.g. a course in LLED 7045 is assigned to new special interest courses; number to change in the future
