Anthony Omerikwa and Fred Prasuhn, doctoral students in the program of Adult Education were selected to participate in the 2009 Graduate School Emerging Leaders Program, which takes place in October at Unicoi State Park and Lodge, near Helen, Georgia. |

"UGA adult education student, Austin Browne, named National Graduate Scholar" |

Linda Martin, a doctoral student in Adult Education was awarded the Louise Seaman Bechtel Fellowship in January 2009. This fellowship provides a $4,000 grant to a qualified children's librarian to spend a month or more reading and studying at the Baldwin Library of the George A. Smathers Libraries, University of Florida, Gainesville. The Baldwin Library contains a special collection of 85,000 volumes of children's literature published mostly before 1950. Linda, who was named Georgia's Library Media Specialist of the Year in 2007, plans to collect stories to illustrate national standards in science, social studies, and math. |
