A $10.00 deposit will be refunded when the card is returned. The cards are activated for 1 semester. For graduate assistants it is activated for the length of their contract. Hours of the lobby doors are: 7 AM to 8 PM M-F, 8 AM to 2 PM on Saturday. The lobby doors to the parking lot are the only doors that should be used to enter/exit the building. The lobby doors to the front parking lot are open from 7 AM to 4:45 PM M-F. The building is locked during holidays, but access cards allow access to the building/classrooms 24 hours per day.

  6. WebCT Access

WebCT is used to provide instruction at the University of Georgia either for a Web-based course or as a course supplement in conjunction with a course. WebCT can be accessed directly or from UGA's home page. Your login and password will be the same as your university email.

For more information about WebCt students are encouraged to attend one of two sessions entitled "Introduction to WebCT for Students." The sessions will cover the login procedure as well as WebCT navigation and common course tools. The overview is designed for students who have no prior knowledge of WebCT, and technical or course design questions will not be covered. No advance registration is necessary.

  7. The Personal Access Wireless/Walkup System (PAWS)

Using your computer for Internet services in Rivers Crossing

The Personal Access Wireless/Walkup System (PAWS) is the wireless connectivity tool used across campus, and is fully functional in Rivers Crossing.  There is no additional software needed on your personal computer in order to connect to PAWS.  The hardware required is a wireless connectivity card (many computers have internal cards, or you may use a wireless card that plugs into the PCI slot in your laptop.)

    1. Verify that your TCP/IP setting is set to DCHP.  This setting will allow you to connect to PAWS when you open up a web browser.  Contact EITS (http://www.eits.uga.edu/) for detailed information if you are not sure how to do this.
    2. Students must first have a UGA MyID and Password already set up.  See http://www.coe.uga.edu/leap/adminpolicy/orientation/registration_newstudents.html#myid
    3. Open up a web browser on your computer.  If your wireless card is functioning properly and your TCP/IP settings are correct, the PAWS interface screen will automatically load up in your browser.
    4. Simply enter your UGA MyID and Password into the login page, and you will be connected to the wireless system.
