The Irene and Curtis Ulmer Scholarship for Adult Education Doctoral Students at The University of Georgia

The Irene and Curtis Ulmer Scholarship in Adult Education is an annual award given to an outstanding doctoral student. Curtis and Irene were members of the UGA community since the late 1960s. Dr. Ulmer was Head of the Department of Adult Education from 1967 until 1981 and continued on the faculty until 1986, at which time he was named as Professor Emeritus. Irene was an advisor and instructor in the Career Planning and Placement Department from 1968 until her retirement in 1983. The scholarship program is a continuation of their timeless friendship and commitment to the students in the Department. The award is a one-year stipend designed to support students in their tuition, fees, and other expenses. Awards may also be used for students' research and travel to professional conferences.
