Course Registration Process

Registration

New students will receive a letter prior to the start of their first semester informing them about which faculty member will serve as their advisor.

A Few Items to Get You Started

Establish a UGA MyID and Password

Prior to being able to begin the online registration process, all new graduate students coming to the University of Georgia must establish a UGA MyIDand password. To establish an UGA MyID and Password go to http://www.uga.edu/myid to access services at the University. Establishing the UGA MyID automatically creates a UGA ARCHES e-mail account.  This account will be the e-mail address to which official University e-mail communications including announcements from the Program in Educational Administration and Policy and the Department of Lifelong Education, Administration, and Policy. will be sent.  Students are encouraged to check this e-mail account often and to consider completing the steps that will allow UGA e-mails to be forwarded to a primary e-mail address (e.g., personal or work e-mail account).

OASIS (Online Access to the Student Information System)

The UGA MyID will serve as the student’s login and password to access OASIS (Online Access to Student Information Systems) OASIS https://oasisweb.uga.edu/ is the online tool that allows students to register for classes, access student records, view student account information, as well as check any flags associated with the student’s account that may delay the ability to register.
You can check the key dates for registration, either in the paper copy of the semester's schedule of classes or you can check it online at OASIS at https://oasisweb.uga.edu/
At this site you can also:

  • View the course catalogue
  • Register for classes
  • Find key dates for the semester
  • Review and print your schedule once you have registered
  • Add/Drop and Withdraw from classes

The course display will resemble this

When is OASIS available?
General hours of availability of OASIS http://oasisweb.uga.edu are 7a.m. to 11p.m. daily. Registration closes at 7:30 pm on the day of Late Registration and at noon on the last day of Drop/Add.

How can I connect to OASIS?
Go to the OASIS home page at http://oasisweb.uga.edu
If you do not have a computer with Internet access, visit one of the UGA computer labs. For locations see www.uga.edu/eits/sites , call the EITS Help Desk at 542-3106, or visit UGA at Gwinnett.

Log-on Problems with OASIS

If you try to log on to OASIS and get a message that says my PIN is invalid and that my access has been revoked, you must call (706) 542-4040 or go to the Office of the Registrar, Holmes/Hunter Academic Building, to have your PIN reset. Be sure to bring your photo ID.

PINs (Personal Identification Numbers)

Your OASIS PIN is your Personal Identification Number for use with OASIS. It is initially your six-digit birthday in the format MMDDYY. For example, a student whose birthday is January 4, 1984, would initially have the PIN: 010484. After logging onto OASIS at https://oasisweb.uga.edu/ you must change your initial PIN to a 3 to 6 digit number other than your birthday.

If you forget your PIN number …
The registration system requires the entry of a unique ‘hint’ question and answer which must be provided when the PIN is forgotten. The option to retrieve the forgotten PIN is located on the OASIS at https://oasisweb.uga.edu/ System Entry screen.

How can I change my PIN?
To change your PIN log onto OASIS at https://oasisweb.uga.edu/ and choose Change PIN Number on the Main Menu. You must know your current PIN Number in order to change it.

FLAGS ON REGISTRATION

If as a new student, you are “flagged” from registering, you will not be able to register until the flag is removed.  If you have a flag on your registration, while in OASIS at  https://oasisweb.uga.edu/ go to the Registration Main Menu and choose the View Flags option to view the flagging office’s name and telephone number.  You will need to contact the office that has flagged your registration to see what needs to be done to remove the registration flag.  Unfortunately, the advisor or Graduate Coordinator cannot override a registration flag.

UPDATED LIST OF COURSES

You can find a comprehensive updated list of courses offered in the semester on the Registrar’s website at http://www.reg.uga.edu/or.nsf/public/acalendar

POD

How can I register for a POD or POH course if the Call Number is not listed in the Schedule of Classes?

Courses designated POD (Permission of Department) are restricted. For POD courses contact the department offering the course. If you are given permission to take the course, you must still register for the course using OASIS . When you select Register or Adjust Schedule from the Registration Main Menu, you will see a pop-up screen that will display the Call Number you need to register for the class.
