Educational Administration and Policy

Admissions Requirements

Overview

As a first step, applicants should begin working with their school district to determine if they will be eligible to participate in the Plan A which leads to leadership certification.

As the second step of the graduate admissions process, applicants collect information about their prior academic experiences such as college and university transcripts, test results (GRE), and then have these materials submitted to the University of Georgia Graduate Admissions Office. These steps are outlined on the Graduate School Admissions page.

The third step is to submit materials to the Program in Educational Administration and Policy. All of these materials are examined by the Admissions Committee in the Program in Educational Administration and Policy so that informed decisions can be made relative to admissions. Applicants are reminded that no decision about admissions can be made until all materials are received.

  1. As a starting point, please consult the Graduate School Homepage for application deadlines and allow ample time for transcripts to be sent to the University of Georgia.

  2. Applicants must have a Master’s Degree in educational administration/leadership, education policy, the social sciences, or a related field to be considered for admissions to the Ed.D. in Educational Leadership.

Notes to Ed.D. Applicants

  • Students should note the policies on transfer of credit.
  • Students are admitted twice yearly to begin in Spring and Fall semesters.
  • An application can not be considered until all materials are received.

Fall 2010 application deadlines

  • By January 12, 2010, the on-line application must be submitted with the non-refundable application fee to Graduate School Admissions.
  • By February 2, 2010, all other materials (GRE scores, letters of recommendation and the Recommendation Forms, official transcripts, Current Resume or Curriculum Vitae and Statement of Purpose) must be received by the Program in Educational Administration and Policy.
