Educational Administration and Policy
Plan A: The Performance-Based Program
Once a partnership agreement is forged between the UGA Program in Educational Administration and Policy and the school system district-level administrator has written a letter expressing support for participation in the Performance-based Program (Plan A), students choose to follow either the building-level track or the district-level track and sustain the appropriate “Supervised Educational Leadership Residency” at the Building or District Level. Students will need to self-select the level of residency (Building, District, or both).

II. Research Course: 9 Semester Hours
Research courses are taken in consultation with the student’s major advisor and committee.

If students wish to apply for both levels of leadership certification, both courses, EDAP 8115 and EDAP 8120, in addition to additional hours of Supervised Educational Leadership Residency at each level must be sustained. Please note:
- EDAP 8611, 8612, and 8613 must be taken sequentially; EDAP 8115 must be taken prior to or concurrently with EDAP 8611.
- EDAP 8711, 8712, and 8713 must be taken sequentially; EDAP 8120 must be taken prior to or concurrently with EDAP 8711
- Students need to meet with their assigned advisor to determine the level of certification (building or district or both) desired.
- Professional educational administration experience shall not count toward satisfying the requirements of the Performance-based Program for the Specialist in Education Degree at the University of Georgia.
- The requirements of the Performance-based Program shall not be met through transfer of credit hour(s).
- Permission of Department (POD) is required for EDAP 8115, EDAP 8120, EDAP 8611 and EDAP 8711.
- The Performance-based Residency courses shall not count toward the elective requirements in Plan B.
