Applying for Admissions

Thank you for your interest in the Program in Educational Administration and Policy at the University of Georgia. The following information will help the prospective student understand the processes and requirements for applying to the University of Georgia for graduate-level programs and degrees in the Program of Educational Administration and Policy. Please read this information carefully and consult the resources available through the Office of Graduate School Admissions at the University of Georgia at http://www.uga.edu/gradschool/admissions/review.html and the Educational Administration and Policy Homepage at http://www.coe.uga.edu/leap/adminpolicy/about/index.html

We look forward to receiving your application.

Presently, the Program in Educational Administration and Policy offers the coursework leading to the Master’s Degree, the Specialist in Education Degree, and the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Educational Administration and Policy. The program also offers a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership.

Our programs and coursework that lead to administrator certification have been approved by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC).

The Master’s Degree offers foundational knowledge within educational administration and policy and provides solid preparation in administration and policy for students who wish to pursue the Specialist in Education or the Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Administration and Policy.

Our Specialist in Education Degree leads to the initial clear and renewable certification for school leadership positions, including building level positions such as assistant principal and principal, and central office positions such as superintendent. The Ph.D. focuses on preparing researchers, policy analysts, and executive school leaders.

The prospective student is encouraged to consult the detailed descriptions for each of the programs because these descriptions will provide much more overview than on the present page. By clicking on the options below, you will gain further insights about what each degree has to offer as a means to prepare for future endeavors.
