The Kenya Study Abroad Program: Student Guide

by
Dr. Rose Chepyator-Thomson, Asa Cordle1

The Kenya Study Abroad program was an amazing adventure. Travels took students from the city of Nairobi, along the Great Rift Valley, and then back to the city via southern route nearer the Tanzanian border. With each new destination and experience came a wealth of knowledge. Much can be learned about this small East African country, and students found themselves immersed in information about the education system, the culture, and most certainly the astounding biodiversity. While books can present the facts, nothing can compare to being surrounded by the people to whom these facts are a way of life (KC, MayMester, 2000).
