Clifford Gray Lewis Travel Financial Assistance Award
Purpose and Description
The Clifford Gray Lewis Financial Assistance Award was established in 1989 to honor Clifford Gray Lewis, who served the Department of Physical Education at the University of Georgia from 1946 to her retirement in 1985. The award is to assist graduate students preparing to become physical education teachers in need of financial assistance. Graduate students who require financial assistance to make a presentation at a professional meeting may seek support through this award.
Eligibility

Applicants must be: (1) the first author of a paper accepted for presentation at a regional, national or international professional meeting, (2) enrolled as a full-time graduate student (3) in good academic standing, and (4) in at least their second year of study in a Kinesiology graduate program. The Award can be received more than once.
Use of Funds:
Funds may be used only for registration fees and travel-related expenses (including subsistence) that are essential for conference/meeting attendance and the presentation of student research.
Application Procedure
Students who apply for a Lewis fund travel assistance award must also apply for funding from the College of Education and Graduate School if they are eligible.
