Pre-Professional Study in Physical Therapy
The University of Georgia does not offer a degree in Physical Therapy. This program option, however, prepares a student for professional study in a school of physical therapy that leads to certification as a physical therapist. To become certified, two or three years of professional study beyond the baccalaureate is required. In addition to receiving a strong basic and exercise science foundation, the student is required to complete an internship under the direction of a certified physical therapist. A strong recommendation from the internship experience along with a high grade point average (above 3.2) are required for students to be competitive for the limited positions available in schools of physical therapy.
