Athletic Training Graduate Program

Graduate studies are available at both the Masters and Doctoral level in the Department of Exercise Science. The department offers programs of study in Clinical Exercise Physiology, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Psychology, Biomechanics, and Measurement.

Graduate Assistantship in Athletic Training

A number of graduate assistantships are available through the University of Georgia Athletic Association to work with UGA athletic teams. The graduate assistantship position carries a stipend and full tuition waiver. The student must be admitted to the graduate school and be a certified athletic trainer at the start of the assistantship in August.
Application deadline for graduate assistantships is December 1. Finalist for the graduate assistantship position will be expected to visit UGA for an interview with clinical and academic faculty.

Doctoral

The goal of the doctoral program is to prepare students to assume roles as leaders in athletic training as productive scholars. Emphasis is place on the development of the student’s research program and to gain experience with classroom teaching and management of a CAATE athletic training education program.

Admission Criteria

The student must have a minimum 3.0 undergraduate and graduate GPA and a GRE score of at least 1000 for the math and verbal sections.

Assistantship for Doctoral Study
