Athletic Training and Sports Medicine

Welcome!

The University of Georgia offers a comprehensive athletic training education program.  The undergraduate program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) http://caate.net/.  The Athletic Training Education Program is housed in the Department of Kinesiology

Graduate programs are offered in the Department of Kinesiology with areas of study in Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Psychology, Muscle Physiology, Measurement and Evaluation.  Graduate assistantships are offered through the University of Georgia Athletic Association or the Department of Kinesiology.

The athletic training program offers research opportunities in several areas of investigation including sport-related concussion, prevention of exertional heat illness and functional rehabilitation following total knee replacement.
