Athletic Training and Sports Medicine

klinger ultraThe University of Georgia offers a comprehensive athletic training education and sports medicine program. The undergraduate program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) and is an emphasis in the Department of Exercise Science.

Graduate programs are offered in the Department of Exercise Science with areas of study in Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Psychology, Muscle Physiology, Measurement and Evaluation. Graduate assistantships are offered through the Athletic Association or the Department of Exercise Science.

The athletic training program offers research opportunities in several areas of expertise including sport concussion, prevention of heat related injuries and functional rehabilitation following total knee replacement surgery.
