Kid Pix

What is it?

Kid Pix is an art computer program made by Brøderbund geared toward children. Though the game featured regular art, it also lets the player watch movies, animate, and design creatures called "moopies".  Children create images in Kid Pix by manipulating one or more of the drawing tools they've selected. Children interact by: creating images; making decisions about what to do next; reacting to what they've designed; and sharing their creations with others. There is also a "Hidden Pictures" option that works as a great prediction activity for individuals or small groups. The latest version includes the ability to create slide shows and to incorporate animated elements into an otherwise static canvas. It continues to be a top selling creativity product for children all over the world and has been localized into dozens of foreign languages.
