Digital Storytelling

What is it?

Digital Storytelling combines multimedia with narratives of all types to present a concise, poignant, and personal story. Most digital stories combine voice, music, graphics, and possibly video through the use of computer technologies. Although lengths of these stories vary, many are limited to about five minutes.

Digital Storytelling reflects both a broad reference to the emergent new forms of digital narratives (web-based stories, interactive stories, hypertexts, and narrative computer games) as well as the specific approach of creating short digital films developed by the Center for Digital Storytelling.

Digital Storytelling is the modern expression of the ancient art of storytelling. Digital stories derive their power by weaving images, music, narrative and voice together, thereby giving deep dimension and vivid color to characters, situations, experiences, and insights. Tell your story now digitally.
