What are information literacy skills?

Information literacy means that an individual can access, select, analyze, synthesize, create, and communicate information.  The information can come from a variety of sources such as books, television, web sites, and virtual libraries.   The information created and communicated uses a variety of technology and can be shared through a variety of mediums.
