Technology IntegrationTechnology Planning and Requirements for SuccessIn 1996, President Clinton issued a technology literacy challenge with a goal of connecting all schools to the Internet by 2000. Connectivity was not enough to achieve the goal of creating students with the academic knowledge and technical skills to contribute and be successful in work, education, and community life. Chief executives from industry and education formed the CEO Forum on Education and Technology in response to the President’s challenge. President Clinton identified four pillars or critical elements:
