Technology Integration21st Century SkillsThe partnership among industry, k-12 education, and Higher Education continued through the work of the Partnership of the 21st Century Skills. This unique public and private partnership has a mission of “…serving as a catalyst for change in teaching, learning, and assessment and as an advocate among education policy makers through a unique partnership among education, business, and government leaders.” http://www.21stcenturyskills.org. The partnership identified six key elements of 21st century learning:
A major emphasis is on literacy that means more than basic reading, writing and computing skills. Quoting Alvin Toffler, the partnership’s publication A Report and Mile Guide for 21st Century Skills states, “The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn and relearn.” See http://www.21stcenturyskills.org for: P21 Framework – The Bridge to 21st Century Learning
