Charge-coupled device
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Chip Type: All digital cameras have light sensitive chips to capture the image. These are called charge-coupled devices. Cameras generally have between 1 and 3. The more chips the better. One chip simultaneously captures red, blue, and green light. With three chips, one chip is devoted to each color (making it more accurate). Higher chipsets are generally more expensive though.
