2005 Executive Summary

IT Jobs Update - 2007

The work of the IT Jobs Committee was submitted to UGA Leadership in 2005.  Job classifications, salary bands, a UGA hiring target within those bands, an IT Matrix and IT Leadership Matrix were approved.   Please go to the UGA Human Resources site, https://jobapp.humanres.uga.edu/classification, when hiring or reclassifying an IT position. 
           
To view job titles and descriptions, select IT as the job family.  To view the job description, select the appropriate job title.  To view the IT Matrix and IT Leadership matrix, click on the pull down menu labeled HR Job Family Info. 

The IT Matrix is used to identify the level of the job title:  Assistant, Associate, Specialist, and Principal.  Each level has a description of the skills and attributes of the classification pertaining to:

  • Technical knowledge
  • Problem Solving
  • Communication and Teamwork
  • Leadership.

The IT Leadership Matrix is used to identify levels in the IT Leadership track:  IT Manager, IT Senior Manager, Associate Director, and Director. Skills and attributes are identified for each level.
    
The IT Jobs Committee developed tools to assist the UGA community place or re-classify IT Professionals.  These transition tools can be accessed using the index for this website.  Additionally, a summary of the work of this committee and a copy of the executive summary presented to senior management is included.
