| Special Education Teacher Certification Program
Undergraduate programs to be phased out
The University of Georgia is no longer accepting applications to its undergraduate programs in Gwinnett. The Board of Regents is instead creating a new four-year college at the Gwinnett University Center location. If you are interested in pursuing a Special Education degree at our Athens campus, please visit the web site at www.coe.uga.edu/spe/ for specific requirements.

The Special Education Teacher Certification Program is a new undergraduate degree program offered by the University of Georgia College of Education at the Gwinnett University Center. Students earn a Bachelor of Science in Education degree leading to initial state certification as a special education generalist. Students develop skills to work with individuals who have mild disabilities at all age levels (i.e., MID, LD, BD).Graduates will be certified as interrelated special education resource teachers.
The admissions process to this program requires two steps. A student must complete the application that is specific to this program (see link to the left). The student must also complete the application process required to be admitted as a transfer student to The University of Georgia. This information can be found at http://www.admissions.uga.edu/gwinnett/.
