GSTEP is...

Fostering Research

The Evaluation Team works with GSTEP teams in formative evaluation of GSTEP programs. Team leaders, with the Evaluation Team, create logic models representative of the various teams’ programs, allowing them to define goals and measurable outcomes while also illustrating the bigger picture of their work and how their activities connect to other parts of GSTEP. With three partner institutions and numerous teams within each partner institute, the role of the Evaluation Team is crucial to the success of GSTEP.

Research & Evaluation Team Activities

  • Researching the experiences of beginning teachers to support the development and implementation of appropriate induction strategies.
  • Surveying teachers who leave local schools to guide the development of appropriate retention strategies.
  • Supporting a wide range of interdisciplinary research studies conducted by college of education, arts and sciences, and P-12 researchers on the preparation of educators.
  • Documenting and evaluating the success and challenges of reforming teacher preparation.
