The heartbeat of education is in the classroom. The energy and passion generated from the exchange of learning between the teacher and the student is a phenomenal event to observe. Georgia ASCD serves as the impetus to foster that passion by supporting teachers in the acquisition of systemic strategies and approaches that facilitate student engagement and student achievement. Under the umbrella of ASCD, our parent organization, the Georgia affiliate continues to provide sound professional learning opportunities for educators to acquire and practice the skills and abilities needed to implement standards based classrooms.

As we embrace the level of learning our children need in order to be successful in a highly technical and competitive global environment, Georgia ASCD stands firm in its mission to improve the quality of education by promoting effective practices in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and supervision. In order to accomplish this mission, we solicit and encourage educators from across the state to join forces with our organization as a means to provide a solid, united voice for education. Together, we can accomplish much for all of our children.

The Mission of Georgia ASCD is "To Improve the quality of education by promoting effective practices in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and supervision.
"Georgia ASCD is dedicated to developing the capacity of each member in order to meet the challenge of its mission. Through The Reporter, regional meetings, and statewide conference, we seek to provide opportunities for professional growth and a forum for statewide and national issues. Georgia ASCD also informs its members about sound educational research as well as quality educational practices.

We believe it is incumbent upon us as educational leaders to make certain that every child in Georgia is provided a quality education. Through the Strategic and Diversity Plan, every member of Georgia ASCD can contribute to help make our mission a reality."
