The Xalapa Experience
Learning about Language and Culture in Mexico
children

You can directly experience the depth and hospitality of the Mexican culture, improve your Spanish, and learn more about how to teach students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds! During the 2007 experience, you can:

  • Live with Mexican host families who will show you the rich cultural heritage of the area around Xalapa and Puebla, Mexico. The areas are filled with lovely parks, vibrant business districts, and fine restaurants.
  • Observe teachers and work with students in Mexican schools.
  • Take daily classes in Spanish and Mexican culture at the School for Foreign Students, a part of the University of Veracruz main campus.
  • Visit nearby rural villages in the coffee-growing and mango-growing area, and take a trip to an archaeological site or another city.

To hear more about this great experience, including information about the exact schedule and costs, join us at an informational meeting:

Tuesday, January 16, 2007
4:00pm-5:30pm
