Staff
Members are supervised by a talented staff of trained exercise professionals. Many currently hold nationally recognized certifications in personal training and group aerobic instruction. The Center supports the educational missions of the Department with specific support for the Strength, Conditioning and Fitness (M.S.-nonthesis); Clinical Exercise Physiology (M.S.-nonthesis); and Exercise Physiology (M.S. and Ph.D.) graduate degree programs. The Center programming serves as laboratory experiences for graduate and undergraduate students interested in exercise related careers as health fitness practitioners. Various practicum and internship experiences in the community are also coordinated through the Center to enhance the students’ practical experience.
All hours of operation are supervised by graduate students in the Department of Kinesiology who are exercise specialists with experience in exercise prescription, supervision and emergency response. Monitoring of blood pressure and heart rate are available for those deemed higher risk for cardiovascular disease.
