Committees - University Committees
Description
The University Council exercises legislative power on matters of general educational policy and, consistent with Policies of the Board of Regents, makes rules and regulations it deems necessary for the promotion of the educational interests of the University. Composition
Each school/college has representatives proportional to the number of faculty in all the University’s schools and colleges. Since at least 2005, the COE has had 11 members on the University Council. Any member of the faculty with academic rank is eligible. Though the University Council makes no recommendation in this regard, the Faculty Senate recommends that the College’s representatives be distributed across the various departments.
