The Athletic Training Education Program in the Department of Kinesiology completed a highly successful study abroad in Taiwan program during the 2008 Maymester.

Dr. Tomporowski in the Gym Dr. Kevin McCully has received a 5-year, 1.77 million dollar NIH grant to study the effect of muscle electrical stimulation as therapy for impaired glucose tolerance and type II diabetes in complete spinal cord individuals.

Dr. Michael Schmidt, a physical activity epidemiologist, will join the Department as an Assistant Professor in August. highlight

Dr. Tomporowski in the Gym A recent study conducted by a partnership of researchers at the University of Georgia, the Medical College of Georgia, and George Mason University, including Dr. Phil Tomporowski from the UGA Department of Kinesiology —has found that exercise increases children's mental processing abilities.
