Freida Thornton
Early Childhood Partnership Liason, Undergraduate Program Specialist and
\Advisor

She received both her B.S.Ed. and M.Ed. degrees from The University of Georgia. With 17 years of classroom
experience in the middle grades area, she was named "Teacher of the Year" in Barrow County (Winder-Barrow
Middle School) in 1982. For the past fifteen years, she has assisted undergraduate early childhood education majors
in planning their program of study and was honored as the Outstanding Undergraduate Academic Advisor for the
College of Education in 1994. She also received the Award for Distinguished Service presented by Kappa Delta
Epsilon for 1997-98. Her duties have extended beyond the students to working closely with the teacher liaisons in the
schools involved in the undergraduate Partnership Program and supervising student teachers. She completed both
TSS and InTech certification requirements.
