Scholarship of Engagement Grant ($8000) –Kathy Thompson & Gayle Andrews

Supporting the Sustainability of Service-Learning in Schools addresses the need to support P-12 teachers in using service-learning with their students. We identified this need by reviewing EDEC/EDMS 7060 graduate students’ action plans and through discussions with faculty in the Service-Learning Research FLC and local P-12 educators. The project is leading to the development of supports, specifically a practitioner-oriented website, that teachers can use to support the implementation of service-learning in their P-12 classrooms. SOE grants are funded by the Office of the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach.
