Lew Allen, Academic Professional

He received his Ed.D in Educational Administration at The University of Georgia in 1993. Before coming to Georgia he taught special education for 17 years in Lawrence, Kansas. He has been Co-Director of the Georgia League of
Professional Schools since 1992. The League is a collaboration between the University of Georgia’s College of Education and Georgia public schools. The League is focused on democratic learning, which supports all students in
developing the academic and social skills, problem-solving abilities, and civic attitudes the equip them to work for a better democratic life for all. His research interests are connecting students’ learning to important issues in their
