About Educational Psychology & Instructional Technology
|
General InformationTo all prospective students: Thank you for your interest in our learning community. All the faculty and staff in Instructional Technology understand that pursuing a graduate degree is an important decision in a person's professional career and we are flattered that you are considering coming here to study with us. The application process has several steps. Please be sure to carefully review the requirements for the application as we only review applications that are entirely complete. Once completed, an application can take up to three months in the review process, including receipt of the official letter from the Graduate School. To help expedite the process, you should send your three letters of recommendation, goal statement, and an official copy of transcripts for all universities attended to the Graduate Coordintor:
You should also send an official copy of transcripts for degree awarding universities to:
Your first step — and the most important — is to decide if one of our degree programs is right for you. While you decide, I encourage you to visit the UGA Graduate School external link Web site to become acquainted with the official university policies and procedures. You should also view the UGA Graduate School Bulletin external link — this is the official guide to all aspects of graduate study, including the application process. Finally, please note that our Department requires the Graduate Record Exam (International applicants must also submit TOEFL scores). This exam is now only given via computer. Contact the Educational Testing Service external link or the Counselling and Testing Center here on the UGA campus at Clark Howell Hall (Tel: 706-5428071) for additional information. (America Online users: there is excellent information about the GRE at keyword "Grad School.") Again, thank you for considering our Department for your graduate education. Our standards are high, our expectations are great, but in the end, we are a group of people dedicated to improving the quality of life through education. Parking Graduate student parking stickers, visitor parking passes, and maps of parking zones are available from the office of Parking Services, 542-7275, located in the East Village Commons (in the lower commuter lot on the other side of the East Campus parking deck from the Ramsey Center). In addition, there is pay-by-the-hour parking at lots at the bookstore and the Tate Student Center, as well as in decks adjacent to the Georgia Center for Continuing Education (South Campus), the Ramsey Center (East Campus), the Russell/Brumby Hall area (West Campus) and the new parking deck by the coliseum. The Office of Information Technology The Office of Information Technology (OIT) serves the College of Education through managing the six computer laboratories with over 100 computers; providing equipment checkout and maintenance; providing video production and desk-top publishing as well as art and graphics consultation and production. Technical support is also provided in the purchase, maintenance, and operation of computer systems and software. Mailboxes At the beginning of Fall quarter, mailboxes are assigned in room 607 Aderhold Hall to graduate students. Students are responsible for checking their boxes regularly in order to be aware of all the activities that take place within and outside of the department.
