I currently serve as Associate Professor for the Department of Educational Psychology and Instructional Technology. My Research Interests are: Early reading; Kids' perceptions of school; Teacher education; Educational reform. My publications include: In Defense of Harry Potter (in press), Educational Psychology as a Policy Science, Tom and Joshua, Transmission and Transaction, Lessons from J.P., and more. I am a member of the American Educational Research Association, International Reading Association, Invisible College of Research on Reading, National Reading Conference, and Phi Beta Kappa.
