Janette R. Hill, Ph.D


I currently serve as a Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology and Instructional Technology and School Library Media (SLM) Program Coordinator. My current research focuses on online learning environments, particularly in the area of community building in virtual environments, and information retrieval in open-ended systems. My teaching interests include online learning environments, instructional design, and research methods. I have participated in diverse design projects, including a training project as a faculty fellow at NASA, Johnson Space Center and an exchange program as a Design Fellow at Douglas Mawson Institute in Australia. I have presented my work and conducted workshops in the U.S. and other countries, including Australia, Taiwan, and Tunisia. My recent publications have appeared in Educational Technology Research and Development, Handbook of Research on Educational Communications and Technology, and The Internet and Higher Education.
