  • Construction volunteers to work on a build­ing site with home owner families and other volunteers to complete a habitat house.
  • Committee members needed for various committees that select families for the Habitat program, partner with families to help them stay on track with the program, conduct fund­raising activities, select build sites, and much more.
  • Position available to help build the youth program, speak to youth groups about Habitat, organize age-appropriate activities and volun­teer opportunities for the youth.

  • The Northeast Health District can work to place volunteers in 10 counties: Barrow, Clarke, Elbert, Greene, Jackson, Madison, Oconee, Oglethorpe, Walton, and in the District Office.
  • A variety of volunteer opportunities are avail­able with public health educators and program coordinators (e.g., Tobacco Prevention Coordinator, STD/HIV Coordinator).
  • Additional volunteer positions needed in one-day community events such as Adolescent and Youth Development Summits and Resource Fairs.

The FOCUS students assist in teaching hands-on science activities to local elementary school students to increase their science and mathematics achievement. To participate in Project FOCUS, UGA students must be en­rolled in AESC 4950 or AESC 4970H. Other options are available.
