Early Community Experiences Opportunities in Georgia

Last updated June 16, 2006.

An Early Community Experience is a volunteer or paid position in which you have an opportunity to interact with children and families while experiencing a variety of communities and cultures that may be different from your own.

This list is a sample of community and school-based opportunities available in the University of Georgia region. These as well as many other organizations and schools not listed here are great places to begin to determine whether a teaching career is appropriate for you. If you are participating in Early Community Experiences as a requirement for admission to a UGA teacher education program, please check with that department for specific criteria. For more information about Early Community Experiences in the College of Education, please visit http://www.coe.uga.edu/earlyexp/.

Contact information is provided for each opportunity so that you can contact them directly for more information or to set up an appointment.
