Volunteers can be utilized at many levels to provide services to adult individuals with developmental disabilities; to train individuals in life skills, accompany persons on recreation and leisure outings, work with clients one-on-one; teach small groups on specific skills such as computer usage, interview skills, sign language, money skills, etc. Jackson Creative would be a great experience for teachers to learn about transitioning for special education and general classroom education. It would also be a great way for high school students to learn about community programming, inclusion, and vocational programming. Jackson Creative has supervised special education students and social work interns successfully in the past and welcomes volunteers.
