The COE Dean’s Council on Diversity presents the Fall 2008 Centennial Diversity Seminar Series

Living as Diverse People of Justice in a Time of Religious Intolerance

Presenter:  Renee Dubose

UGA Affiliate Pastor & Our Hope Metropolitan Church
As we move toward the 8th anniversary of 9/11, we invite you to join us for a discussion of what religious intolerance looks like in our generation.  Why does it seem that some of the most intolerant people of the 21st century claim strong connections to faith traditions?  How do we--as 21st century spiritual beings, regardless of religious affiliation-- align ourselves so as to promote & embody diversity, equality & justice?  How are we at becoming "fair minded people" who stand in seemingly juxtaposed positions based on spiritual teachings of our churches of origin regarding issues of sexuality, race, gender, etc?
